The World Bank Group (WBG) is an international financial institution, providing aid to developing countries through loans and financial advice. Working for WBG in the Analyst Program combines financial and business acumen with the goal of eliminating world poverty. With such an important role in global development, the World Bank is looking to hire the best of the best. To do so, it uses a challenging deductive reasoning test and thorough personality test to assess applicants.
Last year, World Bank received over 10,000 applications but shortlisted more than 3,000. The first hired group was comprised of only 17 candidates. This year, it is looking to hire only 12–35 people, meaning competition is fierce.

To focus our efforts in marketing across the UK, we have now switched ALL International job advertising for the rest of the 84 Country domains that we cover to FREE.
This allows all Recruitment Agencies and Direct Clients the opportunity to post anything from a single job to unlimited jobs.
A Recruiter simply needs to register as normal on the site and choose their local Country domain e.g. de.TipTopJob.com for Germany. This will automatically allow the Recruiter to then proceed to post jobs. If using a job posting board, the login details need to be passed onto the board and posting can continue as normal. For multiple uploads via CSV or XML, Recruiters will need to get in touch with TipTopJob. Otherwise, everything can be done online.

Have you ever wondered whether job searching via the Internet in Kenya is dominated by mobile access and how it compares to the users across the UK? Or if the residents in the USA sit at a desktop computer looking for a new job more than those in Russia? No need to wonder any longer as we can now reveal some interesting stats and facts illustrating the differences between 186 Countries across the Globe.
So, it turns out that the Internet users in Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Gabon, Cuba and Chad use desktops to search for jobs more so than mobiles and tablets. In fact, 97% of people in Kyrgyzstan use a desktop computer. 93% in Russia, 89% in Gabon, 86% in Cuba and 86% in Chad.
Mobiles were used the most in Sudan, Kenya, Palau and the Falklands. 94% of users in Sudan chose a mobile over a desktop or tablet.
Interestingly, Internet users in New Caledonia were the only users more likely to use Tablets. In St Lucia, Jersey, Guadeloupe and Greenland, tablets were used more than any of the other Countries analysed.
The UK and the USA rank right in the middle when it comes to its usage of the desktop and mobile. The UK found 57% using a desktop versus 33% a mobile and the USA, 52% versus 43%, respectively. A similar result was found in Australia with slightly more internet users choosing a desktop in comparison to a mobile; 49% v’s 41% and India; 50% v’s 48%.
The stats turned on their heads for a few other Countries where there were more mobiles being used. For example, in the UAE, 43% chose a desktop to job search over 53% a mobile. In South Africa; 38% v’s 51% and Japan; 43% v’s 49%.
The data comes from the usage of TipTopJob over the last 6 months and compares the sessions from 186 Countries. You can see a full breakdown in the chart below.

In our bid to expand worldwide and obtain local presence in each Country, we have launched a new Affiliate Program to find businesses and individuals to sell TipTopJob services in their chosen area.
We are looking for Affiliates or Joint Sales Partners depending on the type of business they are. Businesses can add TipTopJob to their portfolio and sell the services to existing clients or new clients. Individuals are invited to set up by themselves or with a team to sell TipTopJob. The Affiliate would be allocated a specific area/territory/country.
It is a simple way to earn extra revenue for a business as it is a simple add-on to what they would already be doing. The ideal business would be another job board, recruitment business or publisher that already have a sales team but this is not limited. Affiliates can earn up to 60% of everything sold.
The Affiliate would be allocated a defined Area which could be a Territory/Region/Country which would be discussed and pre-agreed.

This is an exciting opportunity for anyone wanting to join us in our International expansion.
A recent survey by https://www.tiptopjob.com, the International specialist network of jobsites, asked “Is Linkedin more important to you than having an up-to-date Resume”. It was found that 53% of respondents reported that the Resume was still more important.
The 47% of those jobseekers who felt Linkedin was more important come from those industries more likely to be found using the networking site, e.g. IT professionals, Engineers etc. Those employed at a higher level are also more likely to be using Linkedin today, so for example, Managers, Directors and the like.
About 5 years ago, the percentage of jobseekers that think the Resume is more important would have been much higher. In 5 years time, however, it is likely that this figure will be much less with the rising importance of using Linkedin in most roles.
Corinne Hutchinson comments, “With the amount of information you are able to put on Linkedin about your career history and skills, some hiring managers won’t need to even see a Resume as it will just simply repeat what is already accessible. On the other hand though, some industries will never see Linkedin take over from the traditional Resume as those candidates will never use the networking site, for example, Health workers and manual Construction labourers. ”
